The story takes place when Bing-ge returns to his own world after meeting Bing-mei and Shen Yuan. Luo Bing-ge has yet to kill Shen Qingqiu and has him locked inside of the water prison. Secretly wishing to see the same changes in his own Shizun as the one from that other world, Luo Bing-ge approaches Shen Qingqiu Meanwhile, Shen Qingqiu has returned from a future where he has already died at the hands of Bing-ge, with the sudden assistance of the system Shen Qingqiu must not act as he did in his past life which lead to demise. Nevertheless, life had been nothing but peaceful for him in recent years. Once the storm had settled down, he spent most of his days accompanying his beloved husband and disciple as he had promised, often visiting him in the demon realm to stay in the bamboo abode that Luo Binghe had especially prepared for him to reside in. Tonight, too, was supposed to be yet another peaceful night for the two of them. Thus, imagine his surprise when Shen Qingqiu found himself once again trapped in the dreamscape after so long. And this time, the one standing by his side was not the Luo Binghe that he loved, but the genuine one that he feared.

Luo Binghe never asked about his Shizun's past. He was ready to never know it in the first place, until he was pulled in Shen Qingqiu's dream realm and meet Shen Yuan.
