Tamtey's life was taken by the RDA, her clan was slaughtered, and all that remains are the remnants of what the Sarentu clan once was. As Tamtey, So'lek, and the rest of the Sarentu try to overcome the scars that the RDA and Mangkwan left on them and the land of the Kinglor forest, they find themselves once again thrust into the middle of a war that they never asked for. After mysterious visitors call them to lands far away for the help of the Sarentu warriors, Tamtey and So'lek must overcome the fear and sorrow that has left a mark on both of them.
