This story is written by Annaliese Z. Torres. ~~~~~~~~~~ A6d is a warlock and also a member of a coven. Long before he touched upon witchcraft, he experienced a dark, tragic, and rather gruesome upbringing. This childhood trauma continues to torment him later in his adult life. Although he rarely mentions his early life, his fellow witches are no fools to the putrid energy he carries. His hate and negativity are as potent and pungent as a decaying corpse. During his time in the coven, he is treated with several prayers, chants, and cleansings to aid him in crisis. In this particular instance, the other coven members prepare to perform the Balinese ceremonial ritual of Melukat upon him. This was a short story I originally wrote for a writing fiction class. It is initially supposed to be an excerpt from a larger piece, but I have yet to write a continuation of what happens during the ritual. The ideas remain sitting in the back of my mind, so hopefully, I will find the motivation to finish a second portion in the future. ~~~~~~~~~~ Although there is no blatant shipping, please note that the author does not pair the real people behind the personas and only the fictional characters. Respect their relationship as of real life. ~~~~~~~~~~ Story and cover artwork @ Annaliese Z. Torres. ~~~~~~~~~~ Mild Content Warning: The following story mentions mature subject matter. When you're a witch named Trouble, chaos follows. Arden Lesstymine (known to everyone as Trouble) likes attention as much as the next girl, but this is getting ridiculous. When an insane stranger is murdered at the inn where she works, Trouble becomes the next Soulbearer for the disembodied god of chaos, Loku. Yes, it comes with the ability to channel the god's limitless power, but at the cost of her sanity - literally. Now she has a sexy but cynical knight claiming to be her protector, a prince trying to seduce her to his cause (and his bed), and a snarky chaos god who offers a play-by-play commentary on it all, whether she wants to hear it or not. To make matters worse, a necromancer wants to capture the soul of Loku for his own dark purposes, and the only way he can get it is by killing her first. *** I'll post new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

Iris just wants to go home, but fate has other plans for this young priestess and her odd companions. /// The land of Erinlin is dying, its ancient traditions choked out by the Kaerent church and its true priestesses, the Candlemaidens, increasingly regarded with fear and suspicion. All Iris wants is to tend her candles, win her shade battles, and chat with the spirits of her realm. But when she is torn away from her home by the Kaerent king, she learns that her country needs her to be far more than a typical Candlemaiden-- she must be as the legendary priestesses of old and walk through Death itself. *** Cover help from the awesome @ArdenBrooks. My eyes were literally glowing, there was no mistaking it. It was not a reflection of light, or any of the other excuses I had used or others had assumed. They were glowing a light sapphire blue color. It was not a bright glow, but it was definitely a glow. Glowing eyes were not normal. Okay, at this point I had to admit it, I was no longer normal. What was I then? For that, I had no answer [[Word count: 495,000]] Copyright August 2016. All Rights Reserved. Readers may not copy, alter, or steal this story. Melissa Crawford thinks she's just a regular teenage girl. She goes to school. She has friends, boy problems, homework...you know, the typical teenage angst. But she couldn't be more wrong, for Melissa Crawford is not a mortal. Her adoptive mortal mother refused to give her up and hired a witch to erase the enchanting Faery child's memory, not realizing that things aren't that simple. You see, when she was a little girl, Melissa promised herself forever to her Leannan Sidhe (mate), a Fae Prince, and a promise to Fae is sacred. When the Fae Prince comes back to claim what's his, nothing will get in his way. "Mortals are so arrogant. So utterly narcissistic to think that they are the only intelligence in this world, to believe their realm is the only realm, their way is the only way. "Many of you believe us fairies only exist in little kids' fairy tales. We are so much more than that. We exist, living in the Realm just a blink away from yours. A few wrong turns in the park or the forest and you're there. We sometimes walk among you, and you're not even aware of it. Believe me, we exist. Across the globe, your kind calls us and our realm by different names...but as William Shakespeare once said- a rose by any other name..."
