Dust is the strategist for the Bad Sanses. Nightmare's kingdom and Dream's kingdom have been at war for many years, and Dust is the only reason Nightmare's followers have any direction during battle. One day, Nightmare assigns Dust to a spying mission. Dust ends up becoming the bodyguard of Dream's son, Red, and ends up catching feelings.

Dream has excitedly waited nine months for his twin boys to be born. He made peace with Nightmare and they both prepared for the babies excitedly. When Nightmare finds him, Dream laying on the ground, holding the twins in his arms, barely conscious. One of the twins was either a stillborn or died soon after birth, but the other was alive, barely alive, but alive nonetheless. Dream developed postpartum depression and is unable to care for the surviving twin. Nightmare's takes the surviving twin into his own home and will have to take care of him until Dream is able to. Dream has been trying his best how to teach Red to control his magic. Since Dream won't be around forever, he has decided that Red will be his successor. Red can hardly get his magic under control, and it drains him more than it would a normal monster. Dream is concerned, but keeps his hopes up. One day Dream goes out for battle. This is normal, but Red warns him not to go. When Dream questions why, Red explains that he just has a bad feeling about. Dream leaves anyway, and doesn't return.

One day, when war breaks out between Dream and Nightmare's groups, everyone will have to pick a side, even at the cost of love and friendships.
