But fate had other plans, and death stole her betrothed before they could say their vows. A year later, the realm is stunned when she is promised to Prince Baelor Targaryen, heir to the Iron Throne. A political match. A future queen. A prince she was never meant to love. Yet in a kingdom where alliances are forged with blood and broken with fire, Lysierra may discover that destiny has always had plans of its own. Perhaps the gods took away one future because they had written her a greater one. π“…† Lysierra drew herself up. "Yes, my father is your loyal subject, Your Grace. But I am still my mother's daughter." A flicker crossed Queen Myriah's face. Lady Kyra smiled openly now. "I am a Stark woman." "If Prince Baelor does not desire me, then I will not allow myself to be tossed around like a rag doll from one arrangement to another." Lord Donnel closed his eyes. "Lysierra..." "And if I ever feel that is what this marriage becomes," she continued, her voice unwavering, "then I shall return to the Vale that very instant." Prince Maekar barked a short laugh. Queen Myriah hid a smile behind her cup. Lysierra met the king's gaze directly. "I may not be a princess, Your Grace, and my father may not be a king like you. But in the Vale, I am treated like one." Silence followed. Lord Donnel looked as though he wished the floor would swallow him. Then, unexpectedly, King Daeron laughed. A warm, surprised laugh. "My lady," he said, "you sound very much like your mother." Lady Kyra raised her goblet.

A final daughter born of Alicent Hightower and Viserys I Targaryen was never meant to exist. Born in the image of Alyssa Targaryen herself, save for the fact she entered the world blind, Princess Aenora was seen as a punishment by her mother and a miracle by her father. Where Alicent saw regret, Viserys saw love. Where the realm saw weakness, Daemon saw the ghost of the mother he barely knew. Cast aside by her own blood and claimed by dragonfire, Aenora Targaryen becomes the heart of a war that will tear her family apart. For when dragons dance, the fate of the realm will not rest on kings or queens-but on the blind princess who should have never been born.

The reign of King Viserys Targaryen brought years of prosperity to the Seven Kingdoms. Dragons still nested upon Dragonstone, and the power of House Targaryen remained unchallenged. Yet the Red Keep had never been a place of simple peace. Courts thrive on watchful eyes and careful alliances, and every prince, princess, and lord understood that the future of the realm would one day rest on the question of succession. Within those same halls moves Nythera Targaryen, the king's eldest daughter, a princess who has grown up observing the quiet games of power played around the Iron Throne. Few men move through the court with less regard for its rules than Prince Daemon Targaryen, the king's brother, whose reputation precedes him wherever he goes. Their paths cross often enough to draw notice. In a house where blood runs close and traditions are seldom followed as the rest of the realm might wish, such familiarity rarely remains without consequence. And the Red Keep, as many have learned before them, is not a place where dangerous things stay hidden forever.

They say the dragon has three heads. The red dragon on black-the banner of House Targaryen-has always borne three heads. And the tales we know? They tell us of two. There's Daenerys Targaryen, the exiled princess who rose from the ashes of her husband with three dragons and a spine of Valyrian steel. She conquered cities, broke chains, and ruled hearts-only to be destroyed in the arms of love. And then there's Jon Snow-or rather, Aegon Targaryen, son of Rhaegar and Lyanna Stark. The by-product of rebellion. The hidden heir. The reluctant king. The man who killed his own queen. A Stark raised in silence. A Targaryen bathed in tragedy. They say the gods flip a coin for every Targaryen born. One side, greatness. The other, madness. And this generation? They say the coin only ever landed on madness. But what if there was a third head? No, not Viserys. His ghost doesn't belong in the future. I speak of another. Born in the heat of war, wrapped in the blood of dragon and sand, was Princess Visenya Nymeros Targaryen Martell-the youngest child of Elia Martell and Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. Born mere hours-maybe minutes-before the sack of King's Landing. Too late to be saved with her siblings. Too early to die with her mother. She was sent away in silence, swaddled in urgency, and raised not in exile-but under flame-wrought protection. With her mother's sun-kissed fire and her father's dragon blood, she grew into a force the realm had forgotten to fear. But fear her they would. She would become Visenya the Conqueror, second of her name, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, born of Rhoynar and Valyria. And she would do what Aegon the Conqueror and his sisters once began- But she would finish it. She would raise a Triarchy. She would forge an Empire. So if you dare to follow the story of the dragon the world almost forgot- Turn the page. The flames are waiting.
