Clary has always been living in the New York Institute after Alec and Izzy saved her from a demonic attack in the Pandemonium. You could say she was Alec's right hand, and Izzy's parabatai. Whenever there was a mission, no matter how dangerous, Alec trusted her enough that she would make it. Clary has been through a lot but Alec and Izzy kept her on the ride path. Clary knew Alec and Izzy had a brother, an adopted brother but she had never met him. All Clary knew about him was that he lived with Robert, the father of Alec and Izzy, in the Los Angeles Institute. From time to time Robert would come see his children and wife in the New York Institute but the secretive brother never came along. On a normal summer day, when summer break was on for the mundanes, Alec convinced his father to take a break and go on a vacation with Maryse. But that also meant someone had to accompany the adoptive brother. Who even was that guy and who would be transferred?
