Frank Iero is an English teacher at West Jefferson Academy. He loves his job with all his heart and genuinely cares about his students. And then he sees one of his students getting bullied, one of his favorite students. He tries to help Gerard but Gee refuses help. Eventually, Gee lets him in as they begin to have more than just normal teacher-student relationship.

Frank has everything. He's good looking, rich and by becoming a well known photographer he's living his childhood dream. But is he really the arrogant prick the media says he is? Gerard doesn't really like the way his life turned out to be. He wanted to be an artist, but his career failed miserably and now he has to work at his mothers cleaning company every now and then to survive. But after his mother got in an accident and is now unable to continue her work outside of the office, it's on Gerard to make up for that. Luckily there is only one client she cleans for herself. Some people might call Donna Way crazy. After all, she kept her son in a basement for 17 years. When he is finally found, he's sent to live with his dad and the brother he's never met. He gets sent to public school, which is seemingly a lot harder for him than he originally thought when his brother had explained it to him. In the end, it doesn't turn out so bad once he meets Frank Iero.

Unable to stand watching Frank's joy fade away, Gerard comes up with a radical plan to save the kid.
