That's the way he liked it; calm, unbothered. But when his brother takes him on a boat trip aimed for the frozen tip of Alaska, a terrible turn of events leaves his world upturned-one might even say... capsized. As he find himself cold and alone on a frigid island, his initial instinct is to simply... give up. It's something he's always been good at after all. But will the shadowy remains of a brotherly love and the traces of an ancient life on the island be enough to force him to survive? To fight? After all, there is no limit to the dangers when you're a castaway.

The bombs came first, obliterating more than half the global population and reducing any remnants of society to ashes. No one knows which nation unleashed the first strike, but within a year, the entire world was embroiled in a battle for survival. Nowhere remained safe; the rains brought fire, and the land was poisoned by the diseases left in the bombs' wake. It wasn't long before the world succumbed, its once-vibrant ecosystems and populations dwindling into oblivion. Almost everything and everyone was gone. Almost. Having somehow survived the end of the world, sixteen-year-old Astra still wanders the empty desert of the planet on her own, surviving the harsh conditions and hunger placating life. For her, life is simple. Find non-infected food. Find somewhere to sleep the night. Find ammunition for her pistol. Don't die. She's not living, she's surviving, she knows it but what other choice does she have? Until one day, Astra stumbles upon the first living human she's seen in over two years. Ravi is frail and alone like Astra herself, but unlike Astra, Ravi has a purpose, to find where it all began and stop the operation. Embarking on a risky adventure with her new companion, Astra discovers that what took place on her planet might not have been as accidental as she once thought. Alongside Ravi, Astra slowly uncovers the secrets of their society's downfall, all the while struggling with an overwhelming grief from her past. Will the two of them find the cure? The immunity? Can their society be rebuilt? Reconstructed? Or is everything they ever knew simply too far gone?

This is a continuation of the incomplete Alex Rider fan fiction trilogy written by AwsomeSauce007. Both her and Anthony Horowitz created these characters and plots. I am simply helping AwsomeSauce007 finish this story after it has sat idle for nearly 6 years. It has to good of a plot and fan base for such a thing! I asked AwsomeSauce007 for permission to continue working on her story but sadly im not sure she is still active on Wattpad, so hopefully im not breaking to many laws, and hopefully I can live up to even half of how amazing her stories are.
