She'd shown up at the bookstore every day since the start of the winter season with a pen, a journal, and a pad of post-it notes stuffed in her bag. She spoke in metaphors, and sarcasm rolled off of her tongue like it was second nature to her. Her name was December, and Greyson Kaye couldn't keep himself from falling hopelessly in love with her.

I was never meant to leave that room. I had spent my whole life in there, imagining what it was like on the outside. I looked forward to the day when I would finally be allowed to leave. But that day was never supposed to come. Until James decided to keep his promise. He had always been there, on the other side of the glass. Waiting. The experiment wasn't over. He was still waiting for me to change. But I didn't change. Not until that night. It was dark, and there was rain. The sound of the car engine was loud, but the crash was louder. In the crash, I became something different. I changed. But not for James. This new part of me emerged for one reason; to save her. This story is a first draft and will contain typos and grammatical errors. I apologize for these in advance, and hope you can see beyond them to the story beneath. Happy reading!

A research expedition deep into the Himalayas discovered something so conspiratorial, so shocking, that it completely destroyed almost every scientific theory in history. Further investigations led to the discovery of a device able to recreate, or destroy history, the Pandora's Box of humankind: the ability to warp time. The very next day, the device was stolen. Humans should never play with time to begin with. It is something so ancient, so powerful, that it might be as old as the Universe itself. Possibly even more. When the thief in question has the power to do absolutely anything, to set the Universe back to the Big Bang, for example, no words could be used to describe the catastrophe that is about to ensue... However, just one boy is able to change that. Embarking on a perilous journey that involves both the government and the wrong side of the law chasing him, it would take a miracle for him to succeed. But miracles do happen - sometimes.

I never actually feared death, nor did I fear dying. I think I had a pretty healthy awareness of it. I was more afraid of what came after it. I know, pretty morbid thoughts for a seventeen year old to have, but when your life is all around "perfect" what can you expect? Not everything goes right... ~~SD~~ Shailene O'Laughlin faced a life altering tragedy, one that cost her her life and her identity. She's transported to The Barracks and forced to be made part of a war and a world that she doesn't understand. To make matters worse, it's a world that she has no place in. Something about her soul is different, and nobody knows why.  No one wants to find out why more than her, but will love, mischief, and a power struggle get in her way?
