The both of them create a close bond, and Nightmare explains how the villagers mistreats him and how they treasure Dream. Ink knew Dream for awhile, but Dream never mentions Nightmare. One day Nightmare had enough of the villagers and ate the apple of negativity and leaves Dreamtale empty. When Ink comes to visit Nightmare, he sees that everyone is disappeared, and so did Nightmare. Not mention Dreams new and unusual behaviour towards Ink. When a mysterious sheep dressed in a red cape appeared in the farm, the less Bitzer expected was to talk to less become more-than-friends with the guy. He was never into the superhero genre, but he was so brave and kind and it just felt like they already knew each other somehow... With a situation so out-of-a-novel like that, how could one not be but a little infatuated? - He didn't mean for it to happen. When Shaun started with the superhero plan, it was supposed to be a game, one of the many shenanigans that happened in the span of a week, just that. But he committed the mistake of talking to Bitzer while wearing his mask. And now he doesn't know what to do with the shine that appears on his friend's eyes every time the hero is there, neither why he keeps trying to see more of that.
