Florida Forest Service duty officer Ray Lumley is in love with a white fringetree. Not an I-read-Walden-in-high-school love; a sweaty, sappy, I-want-to-rub-against-you-'til-I-get-splinters love. It's awkward. So, he's relieved to learn that he's really hot for Trivia, the dreadlocked, radical environmentalist nymph who lives inside the tree. Better yet, she wants to share an eternity of Arcadian delights with him. But first she has to kill the man she holds responsible for a spate of forest fires--Ray's boss, a mid-level bureaucrat (and soccer dad) who she insists is the King of the Woods. -- King of the Woods, or Trivial Pursuit retells the myth of rex Nemorensis as an urban fantasy. Grazie, davvero. Luigi.

In the first volume of "Patriots": Liza Byers is the eldest daughter of a Catholic, Boston storekeeper in 1775. Her upbringing has been unique in comparison to that of most girls. She has been educated by a French Jesuit in her home and has served as a courier to her father's friends in the Sons of Liberty. While her mother wants her to be a lady, Liza feels the call to join in the revolution in any way she can. She would much rather be riding horses and sitting in on meetings with her father's two apprentices than sipping tea and sewing on samplers. However, she soon learns what it means to be in a war. Her sheltered world is shattered by loss as the war begins, and her parents see the need to hurry her impending arranged marriage in order to secure the future of their business. Through all the tragedy, Liza must learn to use her brain, be resilient, and never cease to be a light to those who are suffering.

All are born with the ability for good or evil. The child itself is innocent. It is the person it grows to be that determines whether it is good or evil. Fëanáro's first thought was not of chaos or crafting. Just as with any innocent child, it was his mother that first graced his mind. This is just my take on the birth and adolescence of Fëanor's life. It's been an idea that has been running amuck in my brain for quite some time. Hope you enjoy it!

A Post- Revolutionary War Romance "I pray to God everyday that you do not hold bitterness in your sweet heart against my decision to fight, for it was as much for my own peace of mind as it is for the welfare and expansion of our modest, yet budding family. They and you deserve the world, my darling and I strive to make America a place in which our family’s future may be bright. I percieve that, if God is willing and kind, soon you will not be so desolate, love, for our little one is growing steadily inside your womb.By God, how I long to watch you swell with my child, to be there as our young family grows. I desire my wife, my darling, my love like no other and when I return, if I do, then I pray that any animosity you may still hold towards me will be forgotten." Follow the enchanting story of Patience Whiting and her doting husband, William on their struggle to cope with the events of the war and what they once had before it. The beauty in this story is its many points of views, time periods and forms. If you like uniformity, then this book is certainly not for you!

Born in a strange new world and raised as a Viking Warrior in another, Kata Haldorssdottir didn't fit in. Raiders change her life in a moment, though, when her father is struck down in front of her. Knowing his life is nearly at an end, Haldor Hakonsson remembers his long ago promise to Kata's mother, Summer Rain. He orders a ship and Kata embarks on a journey that turns her world upside down. Among her mother's people, she is expected to be meek and subservient, but that is not part of Kata's nature. She is different in all ways. The People are short and she is tall. Where they are dark, she is blonde. The women are soft, while she is a hardened warrior with the skills of a man. She does not know how to cook or sew, only to fight and hunt. Inadvertently, she draws the attention of Dark Hawk, a man whose only wish is to subdue her. Spurning his advances makes her a powerful enemy. When she is allowed by the village shaman, to become a warrior and hunter of the tribe, her enemy steps up his game. Only Running Deer, the son of Chief Soaring Eagle, and her staunch friend, Night Moon, stand by her side. The tribe mistrusts her as a stranger, and Day Star, as Kata is now called, must fight for her place among the People, or return home. https://www.amazon.com/Viking-Squaw-Domri-Stevens/dp/1499223196?ref=d6k_applink_bb_dls&dplnkId=e31e451a-7cb1-4bb2-a294-c1fc5e932fb0

4EVER-IN-MY HEART is a paranormal romance set in Montana and South Dakota in 2006. Above all, Lorena loves horses. She has committed her days to breeding and raising them, but her life is about to become very complicated when she inherits her grandpa’s horse ranch in Montana. While exploring an old trunk in the attic, Lorena learns about her true heritage and is captivated by an old photograph and journal that she discovers. She begins dreaming of a young warrior and is both fascinated and frightened when her dreams take an unusual turn, and she begins to see a mysterious young brave sitting on the back of a black and white paint horse. Things get even more complicated when her dreams literally come true in the form of Sky Hunter a handsome, troubled Lakota man with whom she has had a mysterious connection even before they actually meet. Sky, who is depressed, unemployed, drinks too much, and is haunted by his own demons, has been having his own dreams and visions, and his heart leads him on a course that will change his and Lorena’s lives forever. Drawing on her extensive knowledge of Lakota culture and their complex relationship with other Americans, Terrie McClay weaves a story of intense love, deep-seated hatred, long-standing prejudice, and ghostly spirituality.
