Ludwig Beilschmidt, also known as Germany, is desperately trying to defend his country and people from the enemies just beyond their doors; World War II is being fought just out of reach. Obeying the desperate plead of a mother, he saves her teenage daughter, (Name), from an air raid. He takes her into his care, and does everything within his power to keep her existence from the Allied forces; she is his weakness. The Allies, however, have eyes everywhere.

This story focuses on a 16 year old girl who lived in the country for most of her life. returning back to the city, she is surrounded by people very much unlike her. Not knowing how to cope with the new peers she finds herself in quite a lot of trouble. Trying not to follow her mothers footsteps into ruins, problems such as bullying, lack of friends and social skill will tempt her left and right. Certainly it shouldn't be that hard... right?

It's been 12 years since she left the world where her heart truly belongs. As she goes back after many attempts, what will it take for Chihiro to finally stay?
