Shu Ran dreamed that she was the female supporting character in the control group of a period novel . According to the plot of the book, Shu Ran had a love affair and gave up her place in the city to go to the countryside for a man. However, she was dumped by the man not long after. She was heartbroken and depressed, and eventually died of illness in a foreign land.
The heroine became the goddaughter of Shu Ran's parents by adopting them as her godparents. After getting a place to stay in the city, she got a job in a state-owned factory with their help. She met the talented hero, and the two fell in love, got married, and had children step by step. The story ends with a perfect ending.
After waking up, Shu Ran frowned at the weak and handsome man in front of her. How could she possibly fall for such a man?
Facing the man's cheesy confession, Shu Ran coldly rejected it: "We are not suitable."
The man was unwilling to give in and shouted, "We haven't even tried it, how do you know we are not suitable?"
Shu Ran pointed at Xi Ceyuan who was passing by: "Because I like him."
In the dream, Xi Ceyuan is a taciturn, down-to-earth and hardworking man. The book says that he has no reaction to the heroine's advances and remains single until the end of the story. Shu Ran likes men like him who have a good face, a good figure, a strong sense of career and a firm will. It just so happened that a matchmaker set them up on a blind date, and Shu Ran agreed without a second thought.
The elders of both families were employees of the compound, and they knew each other well. Both sets of parents were satisfied, so Shu Ran and Xi Ceyuan got married soon.
At the beginning, Xi Ceyuan felt that his new wife was a little spoiled and clingy, and he was not quite used to married life.
Later, Shu Ran stopped clinging to him, and Xi Ceyuan began to worry about how to coax his wife today.
