Mernick story - AU 19x20 Meredith has been working in Boston for a few weeks now and as Richard convinces Nick to go to Boston to check on Meredith he finds her in a very bad condition. Will he be able to save her? And will they trust each other again and find back to each other? Characters belong to Shonda Rhimes

Post 19x18. Based on 19x19 promo and pics. They had always been able to talk about anything. But moments like this weren't exactly a classic in Meredith Grey's life and deeds. So she told herself it was permissible to panic a little. She ran her hands down her sides repositioning her dress and felt her ears burning as she stood in front of Nick's hotel room door. She still had no idea what she was going to say to him when she finally knocked.

Hope is the thing with feathers "It's been a very difficult six months". That's what Meredith tells Nick when she sees him for the first time after their breakup. Just how difficult the past six months have been Nick doesn't know yet. He doesn't know that, behind the strong mask that she wears during the day to fulfill her duties as the new chief of surgery, Meredith is hiding something, the memories of something painful that she's had to go through all alone while he was away, something that concerns him too but she just can't find a way to tell him.
