Grand-commander Morath is dead, and the fragile peace between the Order of the Plains and their former allies in the northern mountains is close to breaking. The knights of Klinberg, riders of the madriel pride, are preparing themselves for the High-tourney, where the new Command of their Order will be decided, and with it, the future of hostilities. But this year the contest for the Orders' leadership will not be settled in the jousting ring. Four children will play a part in its outcome. Grifford and Tahlia Layne; brutish son and wayward daughter of the Order's finest Pride-commander, Maddock Jonas, a farm-boy who has heard his future told by a voice from the vault-weed, and Dakskansia, an Engineer's daughter, imbued with strength and intellect but not with courage. Their actions will set them on a course that will shape both the future and the past, but before they can do that, they must overcome their enmity towards one another.

If you could stop the world from being blown to oblivion, would you? Ryan McCoy is a killer; a killer who can look into the eyes of his victims and not feel the slightest bit of remorse. Taking lives is something he's spent years committing himself to, but not the lives of innocents. He's what his kind call a tracker, where hardened criminals who roam free are the kinds of people you bury in exchange for money. However, after tragedy strikes, he's forced into fatherhood while being pursued by his old team of trackers. It's considered a sin to abandon your group, once you join, there's no escape. But Ryan does escape, and he does so in the most brutal of ways. Five years later, all of the trackers he once knew and worked with have gone corrupt. They became the criminals they were once so eager to find. After Ryan is introduced to a mysterious new face, his past catches up to him and his family. Secrets and deceit begin to follow him, and the only way he can rid himself of it is if he reunites with the trackers and goes along with one of the most inhumane acts of all time. Who is the one orchestrating all of it? The psychotic, cold, empty sociopath he's forced to call his brother. A brother whose life mission is to take everything Ryan's ever worked for and destroy it. ***WARNING*** This is a fictional story comprised of fictional characters. Metal, machine and oil. These three words spell out the way of life for the citizens of Mort. Lyra is 18 years old. She knows nothing more of the outside world except that it is ruled by the Three Factions of Land, Sea and Air. Land being the Faction she was unfortunate enough to be born into, with the other Factions being the supposed "enemies" of her government. Up until the age of 12 she had grown up under the supervision of her Grandmother Moira. When Moira died Lyra found herself having to fend for herself in a world of power-struggles and violence. Her life has no true purpose and each day she is reminded of the pain she has gone through. The oppressive Land Faction has run her life thus far, and she has decided it has gone on for too long. What starts out as an act of small-scale rebellion gradually transforms itself into something not even Lyra could have predicted. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for reading!
