Slapping the snooze button, I cast a bleary eye towards the early morning light filtering through my blinds. For a moment, I wondered why I was awake when my body was telling me to ignore the fact it was a few minutes before six in the morning and to go back to sleep. Despite my deep protest, Voight gave me the day off and I had the option of coming in on my own accord to fill out the paperwork as long as it was done today. Takes place after episode 5x18 "Ghosts"

As Hailey watched as her kids jumped up from the couch and made a beeline for the front door as soon as they heard the key in lock, she knew that they were good and that they were always going to be good. The holiday season wasn't particularly Haileys favourite time of the year, but she always held a special place for Christmas in her heart but unfortunately most if not all of her happy memories of Christmas as a kid were tainted. Only one person could change that for her though. or my take on what Upsteads Christmases over the years would look like.
