After first hating each other, and a lot of cold air between them, things are heating up between Jedi General Aayla Secura and Marshall Commander Bly of the 327th Star Corps. Die Klonkriege wüten unbarmherzig durch die Galaxis. Jeder Planet, jede Schlacht ein weiteres Puzzlestück in einem Krieg, der unaufhaltsam alles verschlingt. Auf den zerbrochenen Welten der Republik gibt es kaum noch Raum für Hoffnung - nur Pflicht, Opfer und die ständige Gegenwart des Todes. Ahsoka Tano, die einstige Padawan des berühmten Jedi Anakin Skywalker, ist nun eine Kriegerin auf eigene Faust. Ihre Jugend täuscht, denn ihre Augen haben Dinge gesehen, die sie niemals vergessen wird. An ihrer Seite kämpft der ehemalige Captain Rex, ein Klonkrieger wie keiner der anderen. Rex ist mehr als nur ein Soldat - er ist ein Anführer, ein Mann, der sich der brutalen Realität der Klone bewusst ist. Sie wurden geschaffen, um zu kämpfen und zu sterben, ohne Fragen zu stellen. Doch Rex spürt das Dröhnen der Zweifel tief in seiner Seele, jedes Mal lauter, mit jeder Schlacht, in der er Männer verliert, die er Brüder nennt. More and more fighters are joining the resistance. From all corners of the known galaxy. And yet Poe is certain that the New Republic will do nothing against the looming shadow of the First Order. Many have tried to warn the government about the First Order. General Hera Syndulla, General Leia Organa, even Omega, a female clone who has already witnessed the rise and fall of the Empire. But the government is blind to the danger coming from the First Order. During a mission, the Resistance's best pilot is captured and has already given up on surviving until he is unexpectedly helped to escape by a stormtrooper....

Something happened. Something bad. Something really bad. Something really, really bad. Or that's how Anakin would say it. This was war. He was prepared for anything. If he saw Obi-Wan jump from a windou shouting: "Banana bread is sacred!", he wouldn't be even surprised. If he saw Ahsoka floating troopers across the cruiser and throwing them into the walls, well, that happened on daily basics. He wouldn't be surprised if the chancellor had two red lightsabers and shot lightnings while telling a sith legend. If he saw general Grievous in pyjamas dancing in the mess hall at 3 a.m., he would be surprised but it would have some logical explanation somewhere deep in the force.
