Guts has just found out that he is an omega, he doesn't want to except it and runs away, because all he wanted was to have a normal life with his friends. Guts knows if he gets caught that he will be forced to go to the omega testing facilities where sometimes poeple don't make it out. Griffith is getting what ever his heart desires but something is missing something important.

Even after the reawakened Griffith continued on his path towards his goal to become the ruler of the kingdom, his love/hate for an old comrade was still burning ferociously deep within. So it seems that being on the brink of death, giving up your loved ones as sacrifices, and finally reawakening wasn't enough to extinguish these bothersome desires of his. Desperately trying to suppress these unwanted feelings which eventually led to a grave mistake on his part was one of his hardest obstacles.....
