Kaia is a freshly-graduated sports psychologist, Milo is an injured NFL-player. She's healed, or at least she thinks she is. That is until she comes across Milo and he forces her to question if she is as unbreakable as she lets on. He was hopeless before he met her, tying his whole value to his performance. They're both hiding their pain under professionalism and stubbornness. The question is, does their meeting build them, or break them further? Milo's not afraid to say what he thinks, it can be his flaw and his best attainment, helping him gain the best sponsors and positions, but sometimes his words can hurt. Kaia avoids all conflict, she has a lack of work experience and just wants the job- but what happens when that job means being face to face with conflict everyday?
"Do you eat out?" I ask, my voice laced with partial excitement that he's slowly opening up.
"I'll eat out" he stares hard at me as he says it.
"Like takeaway?" I question.
He sits up and smirks "What else would I eat out?".
I feel a tension in the pit of my stomach. This session feels past the point of professionalism yet I can't tell if I'm misunderstanding the situation. I clear my throat uncomfortably.
"But I don't tend to eat takeout- especially in-season" He adds. I see a shift in his eyes, as if he's trying to cover up his forwardness as naivety.
