Archibald Collin's life is suffocatingly dull. A forgettable accountant with a two first names, a placcid personality, and a plain face, he finds solace only in his cat and the rigid monotony of his routine. So, when a glowing circle appears on his office bathroom floor, his first thought wasn't magic, but rather 'hallucinations due to too much overtime'.
He was wrong.
When he opens his eyes Archibald is in a fantastical world, staring at a man as breathtaking as he is arrogant: Theodwine Blythe, the Duke of Aethelgard. Blythe informs an anxiety stricken Archibald that he has been summoned to be his "Comfort Maiden". A magical conduit to stabilize the dangerous, life threatening mana overflowing within him. The job requires touch, intimacy, and far more physical contact with a man Archibald would like to keep away with a ten foot pole.
Now, bound to a grumpy, sickly duke and trapped in a world of vibrant magic, Archibald must navigate his own deep seated anxieties and insecurities. But as a real connection forms with Blythe, Archie is forced to ask himself: is he merely a last resort, or could he truly be the salvation for a man barely knows?
