Tord has been taken from his abusive mother. Hes been put into an orphanage and doesn't know that much english, which makes it hard for him. He doesn't talk much to anyone except a boy named Tom, who also lives at the orphanage since his parents were both killed. Tord talks so little, that even when they grow up to be in high school, he still can't talk well and has an accent, even though he has lived in Britain for 12 years. He's also been given the name "Mute" since nobody ever heard him talk. At one point, he is forced to talk, and things only get worse.

Ok so I gave up on the description for this story but it's at least something- Tord comes back from the Army to see his "old friends" again. Of course, Tom is suspicious of him, cuz leaving for 9 years then coming back all of a sudden. Like what the hell? tord has been diagnosed with depression and goes to stupid therapy every single day. he barely sees colors anymore, everything seems like it's in black and white. the only get away from his illness is music, creating his own personal oasis for him to get away. tom of course makes nothing better, using ever chance he gets to antagonize tord. with arguing in the way, the two don't realize how much they're alike. a demon and a monster, with much of the same personalities and heart.
