Newt has had many detective partners over the years. Some have been too bossy. Some too stupid. Some too arrogant. Some too touchy. thomas' senior year has been uneventful and boring, well that is until he receives an anonymous message from a boy confessing his attraction // thomas commences in an investigation, trying to reveal the identity of his "mystery boy" all while accidentally falling in love with him over text - disclaimer: this plot was somewhat inspired by the book simon v. the homo sapiens agenda

The world is black and white until you touch your soulmate; then color explodes before your eyes {written from a prompt} Newt has yet to find his soulmate. He acts like he doesn't care to the public but he truly longs to see the beautiful colors that Minho tells him about. Even more he longs for someone to love and someone to love him. Thomas is alone but unsearching. He doesn't mind the calm black and white of the world. It would be nice to have someone like his best friend Teresa but the world works in mysterious ways.

It's been almost a year since they got to the safe haven, but Thomas can't heal. He reads Newt's letter everyday, once in the morning and once in the evening. He can't help but wonder what he could have done differently. But one morning, Thomas and the others are startled to find a small surprise waiting for them on the beach. A surprise that'll push them to go back to the world they so longed to escape from.
