Valentina attire l'attention d'une étrange personne, "Calypso", après avoir vaincu deux sbires de la Team Star, une organisation d'élèves qui refusent d'aller en cours, et qui sont suspectés de harcèlement. "Calypso" espère que Valentina pourra l'aider à dissoudre la Team Star, mais cette personne refuse de parler d'elle ou de ses réelles intentions. De plus, un élève de la classe supérieure, Pepper, aimerait que Valentina l'aide à vaincre les Pokémon Dominants de Paldea, descréatures d'une taille démesurées, qui protègent d'étranges épices secrète que le jeune homme cherche à tout prix à récupérer. Mais Pepper également dissimule son objectif réel. Enfin, Valentina se fiche bien de tous ces secrets. Pour elle, tout est bon pour devenir plus forte. Et puis, elle aussi a ses propres secrets. Embarquer dans toutes ces actions, elle espère bien que personne n'essaiera d'apprendre ce qui lui est arrivée pour être suspendu, et ne demandera pourquoi les yeux de pixels de l'étrange Pokémon qu'elle a récemment obtenu, Miraidon, la terrifie autant.
