In a dystopian future, the world is no longer a safe place. All of the world's nuclear power plants have been destroyed, and the radiation made all of the world's bugs large. In order to protect themselves, the world population trap their towns and cities in bubbles; the safe Inside. The bugs roam Outside, where they will stay until either the bugs or humans die out. William Pie, the son of one of these bubble's mayors, makes the bad decision to go Outside with his friends one day, and it doesn't take long for his whole life to fall apart as a consequence. He is due to learn that there are a lot more scary things on the Inside than the Outside.
