⚠️ Mature Content ⚠️ You had just graduated from high school and all you wanted was a job at a good hero agency. Instead you got a lot more than you bargained for. 🍋 is a mature chapter It is assumed that you already know the characters in My Hero Academia and their personalities. I didn't want to fill up the plot with things most readers already know about the characters. #1 keigo 8/5/21 #1 hawksxreader 12/9/21

Dabi closes his eyes and drowns out his self depreciating thoughts with another drag of his cigarette. Cursing to himself, he extinguishes the cigarette and curls into himself, ignoring the uncomfortable tug of the stitches in his back. Through the darkness of his room, an alarm rings and he throws his phone across the room. "Happy birthday to me." Dabi mutters.

"You have forgotten who you are, prove to me you haven't wasted your life away." Without another word, she leans forward. Freezing cold hands cup either side of his face and he can't tear his gaze from her glowing eyes- lost in the swirling purple light. She leans closer still and brushes her lips over his and finally closes her eyes. A bright flash of purple is all Dabi sees before he's plunged back into darkness.

With Endeavor dead, he decided on an early retirement- his life goal finally achieved. Dabi stands in front of the mirror of his white room and studies himself silently. Over time, he's gained a healthy amount of weight and actually has the time to sit back and take care of his scars. Even though he looks into the mirror everyday, he still feels like a stranger in his own skin. With his staples gone and his scars now faded to a muted purple, he can't recognize the person staring back at him. Dabi tentatively reaches a shaking hand up and touches the flaming red that's starting to peek over his dyed black hair. "Don't know what you're worried about, hot stuff. You're looking better than ever!" His turquoise eyes shift to see Hawks leaning against a wall with a lopsided smile. Dabi frowns at the hero and Hawks laughs. "Oh come on! I actually don't wanna upchuck when I look at you now," Hawks pauses and studies Dabi's frown while tilting his head- his own grin falters slightly. "I was just joking, y'know. Don't take it personally."

"So," Dabi breaks the silence that had settled between the two of them, "This is your grand master scheme of the day? Robbing a bank? I didn't know that we were run-of-the-mill villains now." Even with his comment being nothing but a playful jab, Dabi isn't far from the truth. Ever since Kurogiri had decided it was a grand idea to up and get himself arrested, Tomura and his League have fallen into a particular string of bad luck. Just a series of unfortunate events that seem to constantly unfold and create nothing but more problems and headaches.
