Keith and Lance work for a mafia gang, Team Voltron. They aren't known to the public, but are famous among the CIA and the FBI, for their help in special cases like this one. A new substance, quintessance, has been discovered by an anti-government gang known as the Galra. It's Team Voltron's job to take it back, for the Galra plan to use it for bad. Lance's arms were around him quick, pulling him close and lifting him up. Keith saw Lance spin him around but he couldn't feel it. He was numb. He felt like he was watching it happen from someone else's point of view. He saw how deep Lance's eyes were and how wide his smile was. Keith ran his hands through Lance's hair, trying to capture this moment forever. He couldn't stop the laugh that bubbled out of him. He was so happy, and felt so warm and numb. The moment was surreal, just him and Lance. ... Keith and Lance have been "friends" since high school, but everyone sees them more as rivals.
