"do you remember?" kuroo asks, gently pressing his fingers to kenma's while the seahorses danced with the current. "that they make this little heart between each other." kuroo nods. "and they never leave each other." kenma hums, a tiny grin tugging at his mouth. "you told me that they always find each other in the end, right?" kuroo turns his head to kenma, who was already looking at him from where he was on his shoulder. kuroo's heart pumps heat into his bones and his nerves are a little frayed, the butterflies in his stomach making him smile again. before kuroo really has a chance to think, he finds himself leaning into kenma, softly pressing his nose to his and feeling like the world is not spinning as fast as it usually did. slowly, slowly. "yeah." kenma smiles and shuts his eyes, letting his heart escape him again while the moon protects them once more. "thank you." he tells him. "what an interesting turn of events." bokuto says, letting his eyes glide over akaashi's honeyed skin, thinking he looked really nice when the sun hit him like that, black hair complementing blue eyes so prettily and effortlessly it almost made him feel bad for being mean to him on purpose. the cherry lollipop bites his tongue. "glad i have you as a roommate, pretty boy." "don't call me that." akaashi shakes his head and stands up, the nickname making a fuzzy itchy feeling prod at his chest, caught somewhere in between annoyance and flattery at the same time. "i'm leaving." "already?" bokuto pouts, getting under akaashi's skin quickly becoming one of his favorite pastimes, given the circumstances. "what a terrible roommate." ... or, the "i was so excited to live with someone who i could make friends with in my first year of college and good god why must it be you" au

akaashi quickly folds the money in half and shoves it in his back pocket. "doesn't matter. street racing is still a dumb thing to do. and you're even worse for actually racing." bokuto rocks on his heels once, only to lean forward slightly, that sickeningly sweet smile still plastered on his face and dripping saccharine over his words. "but, you bet on me, so how bad does that make you?" ... or, akaashi hated breaking the rules and doing dumb things, while bokuto thoroughly enjoyed both.
