It was just a kiss, don't freak out about it-" "No, it wasn't just a kiss. What Nigerian man would do that?!" "So is the problem that you were uncomfortable or that you're a Nigerian man so you feel you shouldn't have?" "The seco- no, both- that was an accident, it didn't mean anything so don't fucking twist my head with your mind games, Audu! I am not fucking like you!" The Nigerian movie, The Eve, was centred on Funsho. However, it was another Nigerian movie that gave us a glimpse at a member of the hidden Nigerian lgbt community; Audu. He lives in peace, knowing he can be himself in Canada. However, Tosan, an old friend crashes into the peace he has built up for himself and Audu can't bring himself to turn him away. So, they're stuck together. But what could go wrong, really? After all, regardless of whatever feelings are blooming, they hate each other with a passion. They always have. And Tosan... He's straight, isn't he?

This collection of stories is an attempt to share stories of how it is to live as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in different parts of the world. The first stories will post the 17th of May, the International day against homophobia and transphobia. Countries like Brazil, Norway, the Philippines, the US, Canada and India will have their stories, but I'm also awaiting more as I welcome more entries.

What would you do if you were a homosexual in a country where being gay is severely frowned upon and considered a taboo? What is the ultimate price to pay if you were different, gay? Lagos playboy, son of an ex-beauty Queen; and sole heir to the Johnson fortune, Henry Johnson, is facing a stunning controversy because of his sexual orientation . . . He loves men, yet the thought disgusts him and throws him into turmoil, that is, until he encounters Phoenix, a bisexual male stripper and prostitute who is wildly ambitious and will do anything to climb the social ladder. Phoenix is the one man that opens his eyes to the taste of the forbidden fruit, to what it feels like to hold another man, to kiss another man, and to bed another man. One taste of the forbidden gay fruit and Henry knows he's trapped. Trapped between Society's expectations, his duty to his family, and his hidden love of men. Set against the backdrop of a sprawling, decadent Lagos City, and from there to the outer edges of Eastern Nigeria, where being gay is unimaginable, a gay romance unthinkable, the consequences of being caught frighteningly debilitating and cripplingly suicidal, Behind Closed Doors is a story of hidden passions that take hold in the dark where same sex love thrives. Henry will be forced to look deep within himself to unearth the man beneath, to make the toughest decisions of his life as it concerns Phoenix, a young man whose destiny becomes irremovably entwined in his. He will have to question everything he holds dear, everything Society has taught him. He will be forced to question his very existence. Behind Closed Doors is the debut novel from one of Nigeria's rising voices in Fiction, Kingsley Adrian Banks. Word count: 96,000 words. Trigger: Violence. Homophobia. Emotional pain. This novel is 100% gay. If you like it, then read it, comment, vote on it. Furthermore, please search for it and add it on Goodreads. Thanks!

Ten different lives. Two boys. One night that'll bring them all together. Sixteen year old Nosa is okay with being a loner. He doesn't have social anxiety-- he's Catholic and his mum promised you can't love Jesus and have a disorder. He's just weird and he's not good at talking to people but that doesn't mean there's something wrong with him. It does mean that he and Irekan could never be friends. Irekan's parents moved them back to Nigeria to straighten him up-- literally. Being Nigerian and queer has never been easy but now he has to at least try to 'ungay' himself to keep his family together. And that means no falling in love with Nosa's stupid face. Two boys fall in love over novels, anime and rock music that's definitely going to get one of them killed. ❀Winner: 2022 Pride Awards Teen Fiction Category❀ ❀2nd Place Winner: 2022 Pride Awards❀ ❀Featured on the AmbassadorsNG reading list❀ ❀Featured on Stories Undiscovered August 2022 reading list❀ ❀Featured on AmbassadorsAF reading list❀ __Highest Rankings__ #1 wattpadnigeria (3/08/2022) #1 Africanbook (8/05/2022) #1 Africanlgbt (8/05/2022) #5 Blackboys (12/05/2022) #2 Nigerianbook (15/07/2022) #13 Young Adult Fiction (23/06/2024) **This is a bl and it features multiple queer characters.
