Just ... going through such similar instances, the realization to why they were revamped in the first place leaves many more questions than answers. Why was the memory fogged up? ... the only answer to that, could be the want ... for more as those, or ... just the establishment keeping its secrets to itself. It all appears as though just to hide his evildoings, Afton's made a deal with the "devil", a devil that's silently getting away with its own little game ...
