After Princess Rapunzel and company return from their journey, they must defeat the evil separatists in order to save Corona and Varian. Soon after his father is freed from the amber, the young boy is taken into the care of Rapunzel and Eugene. The couple have come to view Varian as their own. They're determined to be whatever Varian needs as he heals from Andrew's abusive influence. But nothing ever comes easy for the little alchemist. A secret enlightens the child to a spectacular destiny. And a creeping evil is approaching, threatening to shroud Corona in eternal darkness and its eyes are unfortunately pointed at Varian. What will become of the teenage boy? Is he doomed to be swallowed in pain and loneliness forever? Or will the light be his greatest salvation? I know more than a few people were upset with Cassandra's betrayal storyline, mainly with her motive, so I have decide to rewrite it. This story will follow a tiny bit of season 1, the second half of season 2 and will focus on season 3 of Tangled the Series, with most of the elements from seasons being rewritten. I also plan to add even more story set after the series finale to just continue her arc and to see what happens to her. That might be made into a separate read, but it depends how much writing I end up doing. Also as a note, I do not own any of the original story or characters from Disney. My story is not canon, and whatever is new will not be added into the official Tangled series. This is just a fun rewrite and addition to the actual series. One more note, I am a senior in high school, so these chapters could come out kind of whenever. Cassandra grew up in a castle, money and power galore. She was raised by the king and queen as if she was their own child... Because, I suppose, she kind of was. Rapunzel, on the other hand, was raised up in a secret tower, sheltered from the outside world, protected by everything and anything. Cassandra and Rapunzel both want different paths in life. Cassandra wants to fight and serve on the gaurd, and Rapunzel wants to escape and explore the world that she was deeply deprived of. Both will eventually get what they've been wishing for, but not without bumping into each other along the way... The question is... Will they realise they've both been living the others life?

Ever since coming home, Rapunzel got married and had the life of her dreams in Corona. But what if something was different? What if her connection with Cassandra grew stronger and she had feelings for both of them? Contains mild language and fantasy violence, but with blood. Nothing too explicit for mature, though. It still fits the young adult category.

This is my take on the idea of a Varian spin-off series of Tangled: The Series/Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. The AU was presented to Disney by storyboarders Kay Ritter and Anna Lencioni who took a liking to Varian's character and decided to create a story for him in his later years; detailing the adventures he might go on and the friends he makes along the way. I'll likely take a lot of inspiration from other fans too and I think that's what's great about vat7k, we all inspire each other with our ideas! :) This is probably gonna be a long one, hope you enjoy!!
