Stanley had been stuck here for what? years? He wanted out, and he wanted out now. Sadly, the narrator wouldn't let him leave, driving him insane. He just wanted out. He didn't care if he'd have to hurt himself or the narrator. If he got out, he got out. The narrator had been stuck here longer and when Stanley appeared, he finally had company. A friend even.
