Set five years after Teenage Response, Sabine hasn't seen her old friends since the destruction of the first Death Star. Her new responsibilities as the leader of Clan Wren has taken her from one war, and brought her into another. The Empire's first major defeat has thrown the universe into turmoil, and Mandalore is beginning to question the Empire's strength. It's up to Sabine to rally her House and other forces to fight against the great evil, while constantly being reminded of the past.

As a defiant teenager, Sabine has embraced the point in her life where she just wants to do what she wants, when she wants. This attitude has a negative effect on the crew and ultimately leads to an experience Sabine will never forget. In the aftermath, she must deal with the physical and mental consequences and how it changes her as a person as she encounters challenges in the sort she thought she'd never face.
