If nothing else, I hope it inspires you to try your hand at writing Science Fiction if you haven't already.

Dannika has never been important to anyone except for when an untimely run in with the cops leads her to a new family and a new group of friends. When she finds they are the same as her, supernatural afflictions, Gwen with insight, Ulysses and telekinesis, Jason with storms, and a oddly attractive Marcus Reed bringer of cold, Dannika feels overjoyed to be with them. Learning the stories of children who have been before, she learns of what's in the shadows, the lost boy, and the consequences of having her affliction. Dannika must brave through betrayal, love, loss, and even losing herself. Will she be able to deal with her light as her end looms near?
