Following his father's death, Zack is sent to Gotham to live with his mother. It's here, he begins a whole new chapter of his life with a new city and new school and on top of that, he has to help provide for him and his mother as she doesn't make enough to provide for both herself and Zack. Oh, and if that wasn't enough, Zack's being hunted by Batman, but that's not his fault.....well most of it's not.

Jaune Arc, in another attempt to ask Weiss Schnee to the Vytal Festival Dance, tries to serenade her. However, things don't go quite as planned. He ends up asking Ruby on accident. This leads to an odd situation where Jaune finds himself going to the dance with the cute, hyperactive leader of Team RWBY. Though as things progress, he starts to realize that maybe this is less of a mistake and more an odd act of fate.
