In the twilight of their careers, and desperate to extend them however possible, the Chipmunks and Chipettes reluctantly agree to a deal with NASA to man a mission to the planet Mars. What they hope for is an increase in popularity; a reason for people to cheer for them again. There is no way for any of them to predict the complications, lies, secrets, and threats that they will encounter before they can safely return home. In order to find themselves on the other side of this ordeal with their lives, they will need to tap into every ounce of brains, brawn, and hope that they can conjure. "Wanting to cry, wanting all of this to just be over, I sighed a heavy breath of defeat, sat down, rested my back against the red stone wall next to me, and waited for inevitability."

Alvin and Brittany have been married for five years, but the last four have been less than happy. As a member of the Los Angeles Police Department, Alvin spends most of his time away from Brittany and their young daughter, Claire. As such, Brittany has grown bitter with his job, feeling it's taken the place of her and their little girl. This results in the couple getting in frequent arguments. However, neither Alvin nor Brittany realize there is a much bigger problem, until one day they are called to their daughter's school, where they receive a rather harsh snap back to reality.

The (1988) Alvin and the Chipmunks episode Novelization: The Brunch Club. (Based on the movie "The Breakfast Club") The Chipmunks and Chipettes were having a normal day at school, when suddenly, the school statue of Thomas Edison was knocked over and shattered! The principal is determined that one of the six chipmunks were guilty of committing this act, and decides to send them all to detention until someone confesses. Once the group realizes that it is not going to be easy to have someone admit their wrongs, Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor assemble a small court in the library where detention is being held. Taking turns, they take the spots of the judge, jury, witnesses, and lawyers to solve the mystery. Can Alvin and the gang get enough evidence and answers to find the culprit? It could be any one of the Chipmunks or Chipettes, or it could be someone completely out of the picture. Will Brittany and Eleanor get out of detention in time for their audition, will Alvin be able to learn how to cook Dave's favorite meal? Can Simon finish his art project in time, and will Theodore need more than a steam bath to loose weight? All these answers will be revealed in the most well known 'Who Dunnit' Chipmunk's story!
