Madeline Lupin finally gets to return to Hogwarts after Umbridge's impromptu leaving, something the now twelve year old is forever grateful for. But what Maddy fails to realise is that this school year may be even more chaotic than the last; which is to say, a lot. New teachers, new clubs, a new Quidditch captain, and Darienne Lomen joining in Maddy's tutoring sessions, Maddy must learn that to survive at Hogwarts in the middle of a war, you need to make sacrifices. And let certain promises wither away. Maybe the Sorting Hat was right last year.

And it doesn't help that her father's former best friend is at large, but does she know that? No. Maddy may be in more trouble than she thinks, or in less than the rest of the world thinks. No person is really sure yet. Follow Maddy through the adventures of being a nine year old at Hogwarts, helping her father in DADA and avoiding a certain Potions professor at all costs. *I don't own Harry Potter.
