In this gritty reimagining, Izuku Midoriya steps into the shoes of Rock in the lawless, sun-scorched underworld of Black Lagoon, set in the crime-ridden city of Roanapur. A young, idealistic Japanese salaryman, Izuku leaves behind a mundane life in Tokyo after a botched business trip lands him in the clutches of the Lagoon Company, a ragtag crew of mercenaries operating out of a torpedo boat. Unlike his old world, there's no room for heroics here-only survival, shady deals, and moral ambiguity.
Izuku, with his sharp mind and unyielding sense of morality, struggles to adapt to the cutthroat environment. He's no fighter, but his knack for negotiation and reading people makes him a reluctant asset to Dutch, the stoic leader; Revy, the volatile sharpshooter; and Benny, the tech-savvy cynic. Instead of corporate reports, Izuku now navigates arms deals, pirate ambushes, and run-ins with Roanapur's ruthless players-crime lords, assassins, and corrupt officials. His earnest desire to find a peaceful resolution clashes with the trigger-happy chaos of the Lagoon Company's jobs, forcing him to confront how far he's willing to bend his principles to survive.
As Izuku gets entangled in Roanapur's web of violence-smuggling weapons, dodging cartel hits, and outsmarting mercenaries-he begins to carve out his role, not as a hero, but as the crew's voice of reason, often clashing with Revy's bloodlust. His inexperience is a liability, yet his quick thinking and stubborn resolve earn grudging respect.
