A hopeless young Viking who desires to hunt dragons and her closest friend become the unlikely friends of two dragons themselves, and together they learn there may be more to the dragons than they thought.

Long ago, there was a village of vikings on a small island known as Berk, which suffered weekly, sometimes even nightly raids from fire breathing dragons. However the chief's wife, Valka, believed peace was possible between the Vikings and Dragons but no one believed her. During a terrible raid, she was taken by a dragon that showed signs of kindness. However she wasn't the only one taken since she grabbed her infant, Hiccup Haddock the Third, to keep him away from a fire started by the dragon who was startled by her husband. Unfortunately she couldn't grab her other son, a toddler, in time and he was left behind with his father. Over the years, the boy grew up hating dragons and counted down the days until he could join the warriors in battle, defending his village and avenging his brother and mother. However his father always kept him inside the forge during raids in fear of losing the only family he had left. There, the boy became a bit of an inventor as well as a decent blacksmith. However all of that changed when one night, using one of his inventions, he shot down the most dangerous and mysterious dragon in the entire Archipelago. The Night Fury...

On that faithful night where Hiccup shoots down toothless, Astrid shoots down another fury. Except it's white. Hiccup and Astrid train the night fury, and the light fury. But all good things must come to an end. They both come first in dragon training. When they enter the ring to try and tame the nightmare to show Berk that dragons aren't bad, they don't listen. The nightmare goes crazy. Hiccup and Astrid almost die. But the two fury's save them. Then they get caught. They are put on trial and get banished. Their parents disown them also. When they leave, they get thrown insults. After 6 years of being free, they end up being in the place they despise the most. Things don't end well for them. This story will not be a series. Just one book.

Hiccup has loved Astrid for as long as he could remember and believes the only way for her to love him is, if he captures and kills a night fury. When he finally captures a night fury there is a change of plans, as he's been placed first in dragon training he plans to flee the village but gets caught and everything changes. Astrid who has always had a crush on Hiccup gets worried when she overhears a conversation the village was having about him, and decides to try and find him in the woods but instead discovers a big secret he hides. (Rewriting) The story begins with berk under another raid within that raid a boy with armour and wings is hit in the head quite hard and loses his memory of attacking hiccup or the dragon along with the night fury soon after. This black dragon was a large black male wyvern, he had purple eyes and razor sharp teeth. It's the last of its kind and the last of its type of a rare legendary wyvern that's was thought to go extinct years ago. After hiccup finds him he bonds with the night fury and the large black wyvern. Little did they know they wyvern was actually a shape shifter and could change into a human and back into a wyvern again at anytime. The shapeshifter teen has slow ageing which is not know of in any human. He has normal and sharp fingers, sharp teeth. Human black large wings on his back. Has regeneration if his head was cut if he could slowly regenerate it again to normal. He even has rare reaper metal he sheds from his wyvern scales that are extremely rare to have in battle.

Hiccup, Astrid and Fishlegs runs away from Berk! When they find a kingdom that is theirs, what will they do!
