After drunken misconduct, a DUI, numerous noise complaints from neighbors, and a car accident, he is sent to Sun Valley Rehabilitation Center. Adeline (Della) Palmer is an aspiring writer, pianist, and singer. At least, she was until an unfortunate event puts her in the hospital. After the doctors could only do so much, Della was sent to Sun Valley Rehabilitation Center. As fate should have it, their time at the center overlaps. He wants to be friends, but she just wants him to leave her alone. When she finally decides to open up to him, they realize their connection goes back further than the day he walked into the center.

Three rules. 1) no last names 2) no pictures 3) no lying. The third rule was the hardest for Dylan to keep. There were just some things he couldn't tell her. It was selfish of him, but she was like his little personal secret piece of happiness. He couldn't tell her because he didn't want her to leave. He didn't want to drive her away. He wanted to hold her tighter and closer than humanly possible. Pour all of his love into her, see her smile, make her laugh.
