Aaliyah Johnson is in her final year at Magnolia State University, where she's balancing a scholarship, an art degree, and the pressure of not knowing what comes next. Elias Carter, the university's baseball captain, seems to have everything figured out, except his own heart. When mutual friends and a poetry club bring them together, sparks ignite in the most unexpected ways. She's brilliant and blunt; he's disciplined and mysterious. But between classes, practices, and the expectations of everyone around them, connection becomes the one thing they can't plan for. From strangers to friends to something far deeper, their story grows with every season, rooted beneath a magnolia tree that sees it all. Autumn brings sparks: "I'm curious about you, but I don't even know why yet." Winter, closeness: "You calm me when I didn't realise I needed calming." Spring, love: "I've known for a while... I just didn't want to ruin it." Summer, uncertainty: "Even if everything changes, you've changed me already." Dona was never the kind of woman to play by the rules. When her father died, leaving behind an empire that many thought was too big for her to handle, she proved them all wrong. She stepped into his shoes without hesitation, determined to command the same respect-and fear-that he once did. Her charm was her greatest weapon, her beauty a tool she wielded with precision. Men underestimated her, but Dona used that to her advantage, luring her rivals into her traps and making them regret ever thinking she was anything less than deadly. Every move she made was calculated, every risk carefully weighed, as she built her power, eliminated her enemies, and claimed her place at the top. But just when she thought she had it all under control, he showed up. The son of her greatest enemy, the one man whose presence threatened everything she had worked for. Their encounters were charged with tension-sharp words, dangerous stares, and a pull neither of them could resist. As old wounds reopen and new battles begin, Dona finds herself walking a razor-thin line between ambition and desire. The world she's built is a treacherous one, filled with betrayal, power plays, and secrets that could destroy her. But Dona has never been one to back down, even when the stakes are higher than ever. 2021©

Book Two of The Adler series ** Cassandra Lovett had pictured her summer holiday to be a break from her prep school scene filled with superficial snobs and shred her big wheels to cruise downtown, go on movie night marathons with her best friend and get up to wild, outlandish adventures. What she hadn't pictured was a brutal split between her parents spurred by a scandalous affair, getting shunned by her own so called friends and neighbours to be sent packing out to an estranged uncle further down south. As if having her whole life fall apart wasn't bad enough, she's forced to start her new one enrolled in St. Sinclair Academy; an elite school rumoured to groom the most absurdly rich and intellectual heirs of aristocrats and billionaires across Europe. Cassandra is certain her new school life is going to be the worst but what she doesn't know is that she'd stumbled into the domain of the most infamous clique highly esteemed not on the academy grounds but at the pinnacle of the elite society, The Monarch. They were the last people anyone dared to oppose, rivalled to no other and envied to no end and they ruled St. Sinclair. Most importantly, powerful people like them were meant to be a myth, but what Cassandra would soon learn was that the world she lost was the actual fairytale- this, was the truth. ** This CANNOT be read as a standalone. There will be reappearances of characters from the first book, mentions of previous incidents and yeah, I think you get the gist.
