A prequel (sort of) to "A Dark Lord is Born". If you were to ask anyone from the class of 1945 what happened during their second year of school, you're bound to get some fuzzy recollections. How bad does an entire year have to go for someone to Obliviate an entire class? Like always, it all started with the unusual friendship of Tom Riddle and Frankie Dickson. Authors Note: Hi readers! So, obviously if you've read A Dark Lord is Born, you may have noticed I covered every year, but Year 2. When I started the fic in 2011, I clearly didn't know it was going to be 65 chapters (even without that year) and I didn't write second year to try and cut down the story. However, now that the main story has been finished I wanted to try and write that year that never happened as it's own separate story. More like an actual Harry Potter book that has a mystery that surrounds a singular year. Note about Tom's character: People already have commented on my characterization of Tom in the main story and oh boy I can already tell you're going to have so many issues with him in this. The idea is that him discovering his past earlier has a different effect on his character because he's not as hooked into wizarding society and their norms yet. All his development is going to be gone by the end of the story and he'll be back to that little shit you love so much (also, since it's separate from the main story, you can pretend it never happened: like the Cursed Child)
