Emery Grace wants nothing more than to become a Jaeger pilot. So much so, she enrols in the Jaeger Academy and moves to Alaska to train there. In Emery's eyes, it was the most awesome thing on the planet until she met him. Chuck Hansen. He's cocky, arrogant and the exact opposite of what a Ranger should be. Chuck befriends Emery without her consent, but as he listens to nobody, her protests fall on deaf ears. They become close friends and are told that they are Drift Compatible. And when a real-life Jaeger - Scarlet Hazard - is brought in for the Rangers-in-training to experience and possibly pilot, Emery and Chuck are first in line. But something goes wrong when they are in the Jaeger, Emery starts seizing and falls into a coma while Chuck remains unharmed. Five years later, Emery remains comatose. The doctors receive permission to cut off her life support, against Chuck's will, but a week before it is scheduled to happen, Emery mysteriously wakes up. But with Kaiju attacks increasing in frequency, a Kaiju support terrorist group rising in popularity and an old pilot back on the scene, will Emery be able to survive in a world so different from the one she once knew? It's been ten years since I saw his face. Heard his voice. Told him what an idiot he was... He was dead and every day after felt like a little more of me was lost. Until now. "Hey darlin'", a deep masculine voice said behind me. No. That's not possible. I gripped the desk in front of me until my fingers started trembling. I slowly spun my chair around to see the man who has haunted my dreams. There he was like nothing ever happened. Maybe a few more laugh lines on that stupid perfect face of his, but there he was. Chuck Hansen. All rights belong to the original owners/writers/directors, etc. I just own the other characters and some plot twists. Begun: Oct 2019 Finished: May 2021

"Well my father always said: if you have the shot, you take it." Chuck quoted. "No! There's gotta be another way!" I exclaimed, I was going for the mic, but Hercules held me back. "So lets do this!" Pentecost said to Chuck. "No!" I cried, my knees felt weak, but I kept struggling against Hercules. "It was a pleasure, sir." Chuck said sadly, I gasped hearing the explosion on Raleigh's end and the base slightly trembled. "NO!" I screamed falling on my knees, Hercules fell with me, so he just took a hold of me as I was sobbing on him.
