Marinette is Shōta Aizawa's daughter, who got kidnapped one night by a villain when she was a new born baby. This villain then took Marinette far away from Japan and dropped her off at a bakery's doorstep in Paris, as revenge. After Aizawa found out that Marinette was kidnapped and was not in this villain's clients' hideout, he then became heartbroken. Especially since Marinette was the only thing that Aizawa had left from his deceased wife... But now without her, Shōta Aizawa became more lazier than he already was. He was excited to see what Marinette's quirk was going to be in the future, but sadly this tragedy had to happen. Shōta Aizawa praying everyday of his life that she would still be alive, safe and that one day she'd come home. Marinette ended up crying when she first arrived to Paris, while also waking the two owners of the bakery, Tom Dupain and Sabine Cheng.
