He'd always been somewhat alone, but this was different. Robin-his best friend since kindergarten-wasn't there. Sure, he still had his sister, but it wasn't the same. She was only nine. He couldn't tell her what he was going through. She was the one who was supposed to come to *him* with her problems. Their dad? A whole different story. They couldn't trust him with anything. So Finney moved to Hawkins, Indiana. He reinvented himself. Pretended to be perfect. Surrounded himself with fake friends. Became popular. But none of it was real. His smile. His dumbed-down personality. Even his hair. All fake. Because Finney was smart-*very* smart-but Steve Harrington wasn't supposed to be. Steve Harrington was just a mask. It was survival.
