It's 1995, and Castiel's high school years are destined to be difficult: home-schooled until eighth grade, he is awkward, shy, and socially inept. The weird kid with the funny name would rather isolate himself and draw in his sketchbook than deal with the constant bullying he faces every day. Things only get worse in his junior year when he excels in home economics class, leading the captain of the baseball team, Alastair, to start taunting him for being gay. Then new student Dean Winchester arrives at Flour Bluff High School, sharing many of Castiel's classes. Castiel has seen his type before -- handsome, athletic, arrogant, and sure to be the most popular kid in school. But Castiel eventually learns that he and Dean have more in common than he thought, and they form an unlikely friendship. This story was originally published October 20, 2010 as part of the Dean/Cas Big Bang Challenge. Warnings: Bullying, homophobic language, some violence related to bullying. Castiel Novak comes from a religious family, only having his siblings to turn to since they've never met their mother and their father has abandoned them. Castiels eldest brother Michael (32) has become 'father' of the house, Lucifer (28) has become a drug addict only coming to the family to see if they will help him get his next fix, his sister Anna (26) acts as sort of the mother hen towards everyone, then there is Castiel (18) who happens to be homosexual, and Gabriel (16) the youngest most annoyingly adorable little brother. Home life for Castiel is no better than school life, he is constantly berated for being gay and is only allowed to stay with the family because Anna won't let Michael ditch Castiel and Michael doesn't want to get on gods bad side. Dean Winchester (19) lives with a drunk father and looks our for his younger brother, Sam (16). He has looked out for Sam his whole life, always there to make sure that Sammy is never left alone to get hurt by their fathers drunk anger. All throughout Deans childhood he has looked at girls, has wanted them, yet he sometimes gets these feelings for boys as well. But his father tells him it's wrong, beats him if he even talks about it or does anything with another boy. Dean doesn't know what to think, to listen to his father or to listen to his heart. He's never had his mother by his side, she died and wasn't there to help Dean understand himself. So Dean instead listens to his father and watches out for Sammy. So what will happen when a religious disappointment to his family and an obedient confused son find their paths cross? Will they find love within each other? Or will immense hatred loom over both their heads, pulling them apart? Find out in Being Noticed

Here we will encounter the life of 15 year old Castiel. With an embarrassing secret: He has Hydrophobia. He enters into high school. He needs a Physical ED credit in order to get his diploma and graduate from high school. Ironically, he was put on the swim team. He informs about his condition, and instead of an actual swimmer, he's a manger of the team. When the team goes to the pool for the first time that year, he spots the fastest, the best, swimmer of the team, Junior, and team Captain: Dean Winchester. **Sorry for the Frozen references** [WARNING: SMUT SCENE MIGHT BE CONSIDERED RAPE TO SOME INDIVIDUALS]

A/N- Despite all the crap I put my characters through, every story I write has a happy ending, because the characters deserve it. So, don't fret too much about the depressing things that happen in this. This is the sequel of Angel with a Shotgun. If you haven't read it, I suggest you do so before moving onto this one. The Novak's and Winchester's lives are going amazing. Dean and Castiel are finally able to adopt their first child, and Sam, Gabriel, and Lucifer's children are as happy as could be. Until now. Castiel is forced to join the assassin clan as the Novak replacement, Dean is police officer, all of them are facing discrimination everywhere, and Lucifer just might destroy the world. The only thing the families might have going for them is that Dean and Castiel's new kid is an absolute sweetheart, yet even that seems to carry a catch. What could possibly go wrong? Warning: This will most likely be very heartbreaking, upsetting, and dare I say triggering. You have been warned, so tread with caution.
