━━━ 𝗙𝗢𝗥 three hundred years, the local fae of the Briar Valley avoided the northern foggy ruins like the plague. Rumor had it that a trio of voracious, flesh-eating demons haunted the crumbling fortress, leaving absolutely no traces of the knights or witch hunters who dared enter.
In reality? It was just Kurogane "Kuro" Nox and his chaotic little twin brothers living their absolute best lives.
As vampires, survival was tricky. Hunting drew the attention of powerful authorities-like the terrifying Draconia line. So, Kuro came up with the ultimate lazy pacifist strategy: becoming the castle's literal trash-disposal crew. Whenever intruders marched in, Kuro's family didn't just defeat them-they ate them. And not just the people. Thanks to a bizarre, black-hole physiology, the siblings routinely devoured iron armor, poisoned weapons, and cursed artifacts simply because they loved the "crunch."
To the outside world, Kuro was a legendary monster. To anyone looking into the ruins during the day, he was just a sleek, incredibly smug black cat napping lazily in a patch of sunlight-the hilarious result of an ancient bloodline quirk that strips away his vampire form in bright daylight. A quirk his little brothers weaponized by using him as a literal footwarmer for centuries.
Kuro's peaceful era of sleeping, playing retro video games, and avoiding all human responsibility comes to a screeching halt the night the Ebony Mirror's Black Carriage arrives. Knocked unconscious and stuffed into a coffin, Kuro is dragged away from his comfortable ruins and forcefully enrolled as a freshman at Night Raven College.
