Lalu saat dia sedang dalam keadaan sekarat karena kelaparan, dia malah bertemu dengan seorang pria aneh yang mengapung di sungai. Awalnya nih Atsushi ini tidak mau menyelamatkan orang yang mengapung tadi karena malas, tapi pada akhirnya dia menyelamatkannya. Pria yang baru saja diselamatkan Atsushi itu bernama Dazai Osamu, setelah diselamatkan oleh Atsushi dia ini malah ngedumel gaes :v katanya dia ingin sekali bunuh diri tapi kok malah diselamatkan. Gak jelas motifnya apa kenapa dia ingin sekali bunuh diri.
