Amelia Watson gets a call for a mysterious investigation, leading her to Japan. There, she is tasked with finding three women indebted to her hirer, Calliope Mori--the heir of a rich and powerful family. During the course of the investigation, Amelia discovers a human trafficking operation, where she meets a captive young girl, Gawr Gura, and falls in love. Amelia strikes a deal to free and take care of Gura. The two of them start living together, while Amelia attempts to figure out what is really going on as she finishes the investigation.
