But he wasn't expecting to have to work with one. Fowler assigns him an android partner, an RK900 named Conan (who Gavin calls "Nines") and Gavin is pissed off. No way he's gonna hang out with an android... right? Riots and protests have been getting worse, it's been getting harder for the DPD and the citizens of Detroit to handle it all. It has become mandatory for all detectives and lieutenants to have an android to help and accompany them due to the sudden increase of criminal activity. So when one of the DPD's detectives, Gavin Reed, who's relentlessly known for despising androids ever since they were announced, had to meet and get along with the thing he so very much contemns, he was faced with many challenges. Will he ever warm up to the android? It wasn't surprising that after the revolution there was still tension between Androids and humans. It was to be expected that some people still were unwilling to accept Androids as a new life form. The two sides still felt some resentment toward each other, though things were beginning to calm down. Gavin Reed, the top detective of the Detroit Police Department was assigned a new case, but he didn't expect that he would be getting a new partner. Who just so happened to be an Android.
