Maya é médica do Futbol Club Barcelona. Atua não só na prevenção e tratamento de lesões, mas também como clínico geral do time. Também faz parte da sua rotina gerenciar o departamento médico e participar de discussões sobre o momento ideal para poupar determinado atleta. Acompanha todos os jogos do banco, junto aos outros atletas, estando de prontidão caso algum jogador de seu clube precise de apoio. Maya toma a decisão de poupar Pedri de alguns jogos, em função da lesão sofrida no jogo anterior, decorrente dos inúmeros jogos participados em sequência. Não precisava ser nenhum especialista médico para notar que Pedri não tinha mais condições de jogar naquele momento, seu corpo necessitava de repouso. Mas o meio campista espanhol não gostou nada de saber que foi banido dos próximos jogos e tentará de tudo para reverter a situação.
